The Special Olympics Torch Run Plunge is December 5th 2021. Officers of the Newport Police Department will be participating in the plunge as well as wearing this patch for the month of December.

The proceeds from this patch will go directly to the Special Olympics to assist in their efforts in providing over 1,600 year round sports training and athletic competitions opportunities to more than 4,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Children and adults are given continuous opportunities to develop physical fitness, courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families and other Special Olympic athletes.
